Add the DirectBooker ChatGPT app

The DirectBooker App for ChatGPT lets you search for hotels with direct booking rates, loyalty program pricing, and exclusive member benefits — all within a ChatGPT conversation. When you’re ready to book, you can link out to the official hotel website to complete your journey.

Before you start

You’ll need a ChatGPT account and access to chatgpt.com in your web browser or the ChatGPT desktop or mobile app. Anyone with a ChatGPT account can add the DirectBooker app.

Quick setup

The fastest way to get started is to visit the DirectBooker App page.  Make sure you’re logged in to ChatGPT, then click the link. When prompted, confirm that you want to connect the DirectBooker App to your ChatGPT account by clicking the “Connect” button. 

That’s it — you’re ready to search.

Adding from the app directory

If you prefer to add the app manually, follow these steps:

  1. Open ChatGPT and click on your profile icon or the Settings gear.

  2. Navigate to Settings, then select Apps.

  3. Click “Add More” to see the available integrations.

  4. Search the directory for DirectBooker and click Connect to add it.

Activating your app

At this time, ChatGPT requires you to invoke apps proactively in each conversation. You can do this by following these steps:

  1. Open a new ChatGPT conversation.

  2. Type @DirectBooker, or click the plus (+) button next to the message input and look for DirectBooker under the “More” menu.

  3. Click to activate for this conversation.  

Trying it out: Search for a hotel

Once DirectBooker is connected, simply tell ChatGPT what you’re looking for. Try something like:

“Find me a 4-star hotel in Barcelona for two nights next weekend with breakfast included.”

ChatGPT will use the DirectBooker app to search hotel inventory with direct booking rates, loyalty pricing, and member benefits. When you’re ready to book, follow the link to the official hotel website to complete your reservation.

Personal vs. business accounts

Personal accounts. If you use ChatGPT with a personal account (Free, Plus, or Pro plan), you can add apps yourself at any time. Simply follow the quick setup or manual route described above.

Business accounts. If you use ChatGPT through your company’s Business or Enterprise plan, app availability may be managed by your organization’s admin. You may need admin privileges to add new apps — contact your IT team or ChatGPT admin if you don’t see the option to add them.
